Lesley Seeger – Relational Charm

August 2nd – 31st

“Immersing myself in the elements brings a special organic quality to the paintings.”

Exploring the arbitrary chemistry between objects and elements, Lesley’s many layered paintings explore landscapes both observed and imagined, interior and exterior, inviting us to recognise a poignant sense of place. English landscape, particularly in North Yorkshire is Lesley’s current inspiration. Increasingly her studio is in the middle of a field where she works on the same scene over a number of sittings. Lesley’s landscapes are built on close and disciplined observation. Finished in the studio at home, the result is a hybrid between the real and imagined.
