Original oil painting inspired by the North Yorkshire Moors landscape. Painted in neutral tones with a modernist minimal composition
This body of work is based on an exploration of Ravenscar Moor, North Yorkshire. After repeated walking, ritualistic drawing, photography and note making, the paintings are produced in a response to the memory of the landscape after this initial gathering of visual information. The final pieces are arial mappings that record points of human encounter within, and intrusion upon the landscape.
These paintings lend much of their technique to printmaking. Thick oil paint is heavily layered over base plates, removed and reapplied through a long process of lifting and wiping.
This artwork will be sent flat packed in-between layers of card.
