Ele Pack – Visual poems from a sensual world
1st July – 30th July
Weds – Sun 11am – 5pm
Ele’s recent work has taken inspiration from the ocean, nature and the natural world whilst seeking to make images that have a feeling of light and space, the landscape and the sea, without being a literal representation.
Living on the coast in Brighton has had a definite influence, with much of the new work conveying the openness and feel of space, depth and water.
An imaginary floating world is created with hidden spaces, things half-shown and suggested inviting the viewer to find and interpret their own symbols in an ambiguous visual field. Clouds, reflections, elements of landscape and the coast have all been observed. Only when a balance and integration is achieved does Ele feel that the painting is finished.
I like to think of paintings as “visual poems”. This sensual world is one to be absorbed, felt, and enjoyed.
